The latest on the big Elton John concert at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
The visit of Elton John to the Weston Homes Community Stadium is now just five days away and excitement is starting to ramp up at the home of Colchester United.
The set-up for the concert began on Tuesday morning, with the first parts of the flooring that will support the staging at the stadium being put into place.
This is expected to be done by Thursday, whilst the seats that will go on the Weston Homes Community Stadium pitch are also due imminently.
It is quite some scale of operation, with the U's ordering large numbers of additional toilets to support the existing infrastructure at the stadium.
As well as the usual catering in the concourses, the U's have booked in an additional fourteen catering and drinks outlets for the day to ensure that everybody's thirst and hunger is quenched on Sunday.
Fans are reminded that there are NO CASHPOINT FACILITIES at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, so please ensure you've brought your money with you on the day to be able to enjoy the food and drink on offer and to purchase any Elton John Merchandise.
Parking & Travel
Concert goers are reminded that parking at the stadium is SOLD OUT, but there remains parking available for the Ardleigh Park & Ride service. This is £8 per vehicle and covers all of your vehicle occupants to get to and from the stadium.
To book your parking for Ardleigh, call 0845 437 9089 or pop online at www.colutickets.com or visit the Ticket Office in person. Wednesday will be the last day on which we will be posting out permits.
There is also a shuttle bus service running on the day from Bruff Close and the club will have tens of buses running on the day around the various car parks.
