Surface greening up at WHCS
The pitch at the Weston Homes Community Stadium is progressing well.
Drainage works were undertaken earlier in the summer and the rate of grass growth has been rapid.
Head Groundsman David Blacknall is pleased with how the work went and the subsequent progress.
He told the official website: "The works went as expected and growth has been quicker than we've experienced in other years at this stage."
"It has been three and a half weeks since the seeding took place and we have already had to do a few cuts.
"The weather has been kind to us, with enough sunshine to help us out. Water isn't as much of an issue because we are able to water it when we don't get the required rain but we can't make it sunny."
