U's Flash: Wynter Signs

27 March 2014

Palace defender seals loan move.

Wynter can play at centre half or right back and will be hoping to make the squad for Saturday's game at Notts County.

A loan deal was agreed and signed by the Crystal Palace defender on the season's final deadline day, with the Croydon born youngster signing until the end of the season.

The U's have bolstered their defensive ranks by adding Alex Wynter to the squad.

Having signed for the Eagles as a nine year old, Wynter progressed through the youth and reserve teams, making his first team debut in the FA Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday in 2010.

It will be the twenty year old's third loan spell, but his first in League One.

Since then, he has spent time on loan at Eastbourne Borough and Sutton United but now steps up to League One.

He trained with the squad on Thursday and, subject to clearance from the relevant bodies, will be eligible to play for the U's.
