Wine Centre On Board

25 March 2014

Free beer ahead of Brentford game as part of #takeoverthetown!

Anthony says the beers will be on him, provided fans come in full U's regalia!

On the big match day itself, the 26th April, Anthony Borges, The Wine Centre's owner, and a U's fan, has invited fans to join him for a FREE beer at 1.30pm before heading off at 2.00pm, taking the A134 Colchester road past the Half Butt, before taking the footpath just before  the flyover.

For the week leading up to the last home game of the season, The Wine Centre will be decorated in the club's blue and white colours, while collecting for our charity of the campaign, the very worthwhile Tom Bowdidge Foundation.

The Wine Centre in Great Horkesley is the latest company to commit themselves to backing the U's #takeovertheotown campaign, which will run through April. We would like to encourage all our Rural fans, from Great Horkesley and surrounding villages,  to join the procession, from The Wine Centre in Great Horkesley to the ground,  a distance of approximately 1.8 miles.
The walk is also expected to feature a number of former U's players, so come and join Anthony and friends for a leisurely stroll!

He told the official website: "We welcome those Colchester fans who live around here to join us – the fans we see walking and cycling across country to the ground season after season in all weathers!"

The walk is Anthony's idea – a way for Colchester United's rural fans to celebrate the end of the season together.
