"There is a great dressing room here at the club," he told the official website, "and it's fantastic that we have avoided relegation again to remain in League One."
"I still feel I've got a few years left in me and I want those final few years of my playing career to be spent playing a lot of games.
"I am a player that isn't happy when I'm not playing, you shouldn't be playing professional football if you are happy not playing, but overall I have enjoyed my time here and wish the club well."
