Bonne Brace Earns Draw

10 November 2014

U's share the spoils at QPR.

Colchester United U21s shared a six goal thriller with QPR on Monday afternoon to continue their goal laden season.

Twice they took the lead in the game against the R's, before falling behind at 3-2. But central defender Kevin Lokko grabbed a late equaliser to ensure that the U's came back with something from the match.

Macauley Bonne was the first to score for the U's, breaking the offside trap to round Conor Hudnott and put the ball into the empty net.

The U's lead was shortlived, as the home side pulled level three minutes later. The ball was laid on a plate by Jordan Gibbons to Ben Pattie who slotted home to make it 1-1.

The U's were to go into the break in front, however, as Bonne got his second goal of the game on 43 minutes.

Weekend goalscorer Sammie Szmodics was the man causing the danger and when Hudnott was unable to hold onto his shot, Bonne was on hand to convert.

The home side were level seven minutes after the restart. Goal provider Gibbons turned goalscorer this time, firing home past James Bransgrove to make it 2-2.

Then, with twenty minutes to go, the R's got their noses in front for the first time. Pattie grabbed his second of the game, heading home after Andrade provided his second assist of the match.

However, the goalscoring wasn't done just yet. Hudnott has pulled off some great stops during the match, but could do little to stop Kevin Lokko's header into the top corner from Dion Sembie-Ferris' centre.
