Midfielder 'really excited' to start new chapter.
New U's signing George Moncur is 'really excited' about life as a full time Colchester United player.
The 21-year-old joined for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday afternoon from West Ham and is now ready to take the next stage in his career.
He said: "I'm really excited to have signed here permanently and it’s great to feel secure for the next couple of years.
"My Dad and Granddad have said that it’s probably the right move for me now because I'm playing and doing well here.
"I've really enjoyed the last few months here and I'm looking forward to getting us up the table in the next few months.
George is the latest player to join the U's from West Ham and, he reflected with some fondness about his time spent with the East London side.
He said: "There is some sadness about leaving West Ham because I was there for a good few years and I had some great times there.
"My Dad spent a few years there as well so I’ll miss it but I've got a new challenge in front of me now.
"I have got to thank the people at West Ham, especially Nick Haycock and Ian Hendon who spent a lot of time with me and improved my game.
"I'm now looking forward to life with Colchester United and progressing my career!"
