Holman Off The Mark

4 November 2014

Loanee strike notches for Shots.

Colchester United striker Dan Holman got off the mark for his loan club Aldershot Town on Saturday.

In his second performance for the Hampshire side, he drew the Shots level in their game against high-flying Gateshead as he pounced on a save from the goalkeeper to score his first goal of the season.

Gateshead were to come out on top, though, scoring late on to take all three points and strengthen their play-off hopes.

Fellow striker Jabo Ibehre played a full ninety minutes for Oldham Athletic on Saturday, but their thirteen game run came to an end at the weekend, as Bristol City's quest for promotion continued apace with a 1-0 win.

The third of the U's loanees, Josh Thompson, was an unused substitute as Tranmere fought back from two behind to earn a valuable point against Stevenage.
