Comedy Night Review

14 October 2014

Find out what you missed on an entertaining evening!

Our reviewer Jazmin Rodger takes a look back at October's event...

On the first Thursday of every month, Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium teams up with Big Cheese Comedy to host their outstanding Comedy Night.
October's evening was opened by Jim Grant, whose first-class compere skills and fast paced comedy brought the room to life, and kept the audience laughing while the other acts were introduced.

New Zealand's Sully O'Sullivan then entertained the crowd with his quick wit, on point cultural observations and perfectly delivered punch lines.

Sully had the audience engaged and involved and even managed to acquire two participants for his finale, much to the amusement of the rest of the crowd.

Then came Ian Miller, who used his self deprecating humour to give the audience a comical depiction of his life as a single man.

The poster display that followed shone a new light on things that previously seemed so innocent, and it's safe to say that those in the audience will never look at a comic book in the same way again!

Stefano Paolini closed the evening with a vast array of impressions, and unexpected beat box skills. The stories from his youth were told with an honest hilarity that made Stefano very likeable (although his uncle would be quick to tell you that they weren’t all true).

The combination of exceptional comedians, a relaxed atmosphere and great food means that a brilliant night out is always guaranteed at the Comedy Night, and you will not leave disappointed.

The Comedy Night returns for its final outing of 2014 on November 6th - t for more details!events@colchesterunited.neto book tickets, call 01206 752443 or e-mail
