Experienced forward signs ahead of opener
Forty eight hours before the start of the season, the experienced forward was snapped up on a year's contract. Darren Ambrose has signed for the U's.
The thirty one year old had been training fully with Ipswich Town over the past few weeks so should be available for the U's opener against Blackpool on Saturday.
He isn't a complete stranger to things here in north Essex, having played pre-season games for the U's last summer and performing for Ipswich two weeks ago here at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
With a youthful squad generally, the former Ipswich Town trainee will add vital experience having made over 300 league appearances in his career spanning fourteen years.
