Striker to remain with U's despite call-up.

Colchester United striker Macauley Bonne will be staying with the U's in the next week, despite his international call-up.

The front man was set to miss two games in the next seven days, having been called up for his home nation Zimbabwe for their African Cup of Nations tie against Guinea on September 6th.

However, the call-up from Zimbabwe came after the deadline where clubs are obliged to release players, meaning that the U's and Macauley had a choice as to whether he would travel out to Africa.

The young forward, who has started the last five games for the U's, chose to remain with the team and will be available for selection for the game against Northampton on Tuesday night in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy.
