Kane Vincent-Young has signed a new deal at Colchester United.
The nineteen-year-old has impressed since coming into the first team squad and has been rewarded with a two year contract at the Weston Homes Community stadium.
He played a full part during the U's pre-season schedule and made his league debut in the opening day draw against Blackpool last weekend.
Boss Tony Humes was pleased to announce the news on Friday afternoon, ahead of the U's trip to Peterborough.
"We always knew that Kane had the potential to break through and he showed us exactly what he can do during the pre-season games against higher league opposition.
"He showed no nerves at all when we put him on against Blackpool either and we are delighted that he has agreed to the contract we offered him.
"I'm sure that he can get even better, he certainly has the desire to, and hopefully we will be seeing him in and around the first team on a regular basis this season and beyond."
