Weekend win in Wales for youth team.
Colchester United U18s grabbed their first win of the season on Saturday, as they came from behind to beat Cardiff City.
Having drawn with Birmingham City in their first game, the U's U18s had lost at home to Bolton in their opening game at Florence Park.
Wayne Brown's men then showed real spirit and determination on Saturday as they travelled to Wales to take on the Bluebirds.
The home side grabbed the lead through Ibi So Sani, who tucked home from a cross on the right as it fell to him in the box.
But the U's scored a cracking equaliser, with Diaz Wright controlling and volleying home after some fine approach play by the visitors.
That ensured parity at the interval, and it was the U's who were to go on and grab the winner as Joe Tennent once again showed his aerial prowess to head home and give the U's the win to take home on the long journey back to Essex.
Next up for the U18s is a home game against Watford on Saturday 29th at Florence Park.
