Colchester United will face Northampton Town in the First Round of the Johnstone's Paints Trophy, after the draw was made on Saturday morning.
The U's will go to the Sixfields Stadium in the week beginning August 31st, following the home game against Scunthorpe United on the Saturday.
The two teams came face to face in the same competition in 2012 and the U's will be hoping to embark on a cup run in the competition this year.
