Rail Works Reminder

4 February 2015

Train travel affected this weekend; book parking online!

Colchester United fans who use the trains to get to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on matchdays, are reminded of current engineering works on the East Anglia to London Liverpool Street line.

With works taking place at weekends through to March 22nd, there will be significant works, meaning that the line is closed between Manningtree and Shenfield each weekend.

Maintenance work will see new tracks installed in Colchester, Marks Tey and Witham, and overhead lines replaced at Chelmsford.

Whilst bus services will replace the trains on those weekends, fans should be aware of the impact on journey times.

More details can be found on the Abellio Greater Anglia website.

Booking parking at the stadium
If you wish to parking at the stadium for the Crewe game this weekend, Wednesday is the last day on which parking permits will be posted out.

Parking permits will be online at www.colutickets.com until 3pm on Wednesday, after which time they can be bought over the phone at 0845 437 9089.

The following home games are affected by the railworks:-

Crewe Alexandra (February 7th)
Bristol City (February 21st)
Crawley Town (March 14th)

Whilst the following away matches could also be affected for fans who travel by train:-

Oldham Athletic (February 14th)
Doncaster Rovers (February 28th)
Rochdale (March 7th)
The club are currently investigating ways in which the impact of these problems could be mitigated by alternative travel options - the official website will be updated as and when anything is confirmed.
