Defender wants to make the most of U's switch.
New Colchester United signing Alex Wynter is ready to make the most of his new opportunity as he begins life as a full time player at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Alex penned an eighteen month deal with the U's and is keen to quickly settle into life at the club.
He told the official website on Friday: "I think it is a big couple of years for me in my career. I need to get some games somewhere and this is a really great club to push on with my career.
"When I came in last season, I enjoyed everything about the place - the fans, the players and the great set-up here.
"I had a good experience down at Portsmouth and played fifteen games. Now it's time for me to get settled at Colchester and push on."
Alex played six games on loan for the U's in his first stint at the club - scoring once - as he helped the team to safety. He returns to a side in a similar position, but is confident the team can steer clear of danger again.
"We've got far more time to get it sorted this time," he added.
"I think the team can get away from trouble. I've spoken to Tony Humes a few times in the build up to the move and he's a great guy and someone who I think can help myself and the team over the next couple of years."
