Upcoming Rail Works

28 January 2015

Significant works on London Liverpool Street line.

Colchester United fans who use the trains to get to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on matchdays, should be aware of impending engineering works on the East Anglia to London Liverpool Street line.

From this coming weekend through to March 22nd, there will be significant works, meaning that the line is closed between Manningtree and Shenfield each weekend.

Maintenance work will see new tracks installed in Colchester, Marks Tey and Witham, and overhead lines replaced at Chelmsford.

Whilst bus services will replace the trains on those weekends, fans should be aware of the impact on journey times.

More details can be found on the Abellio Greater Anglia website.

The following home games are affected:-

Crewe Alexandra (February 7th)
Bristol City (February 21st)
Crawley Town (March 14th)

Whilst the following away matches could also be affected for fans who travel by train:-

Bradford City (January 31st)
Oldham Athletic (February 14th)
Doncaster Rovers (February 28th)
Rochdale (March 7th)
The club are currently investigating ways in which the impact of these problems could be mitigated by alternative travel options - the official website will be updated as and when anything is confirmed.

Gillingham (March 21st)
