Defender Elokobi is the U's latest signing.
Colchester United have made their third senior summer signing, with the arrival of former defender George Elokobi on a free transfer.
The powerful centre half has signed a two year contract to become the third defender to join the club following the additions of Matthew Briggs and Richard Brindley.
George joins the U’s seven years after leaving the club, and arrives to provide experience in the back line as Tony Humes continues to reshape his squad.
The 29-year-old arrives having played just short of 50 games in the Premier League for Wolverhampton Wanderers and also brings a wealth of Championship experience.
Since leaving the U’s to join Wolves, George has also played for Nottingham Forest and Bristol City, before joining Oldham Athletic last season.
He played 20 times in the league for the Latics and will now be looking to establish himself in the U’s first team once again.
George will take squad number 6 and the move will be completed subject to paperwork.
