U's Flash: Joe Signs

6 July 2015

Former Yeovil captain joins on a free transfer.

Colchester United have made their fourth senior signing of the summer, with the addition of former Yeovil Town midfielder Joe Edwards.

Joe left the Glovers in the summer after a four year stint at Huish Park, a period in which he helped them up to the Championship for the first time in their history.

The 24-year-old played 46 times in that Championship season and took on the captain's armband in 2014/15 at the heart of the Yeovil team.

He played a total of 119 times in the league for the West Country outfit, to add to another 25 appearances accumulated at his first club Bristol City and in loan spells at Bath City and Stockport County.

His move will be completed subject to paperwork clearance from the relevant authorities.

Joe will wear number 4 during his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and he joins Richard Brindley, Matthew Briggs and George Elokobi in making the move to the U's this summer.
