U's Friendlies Begin

10 July 2015

Brantham and Heybridge tests for U's.

Colchester United's friendly fixtures get underway this weekend as preparations for the new season step up a level.

After just over a week of activity on the training pitches, it's time for match action for Tony Humes' men and the first outing for his summer signings.

There are two games for the U's players this weekend, with the U21s getting the ball rolling on Friday night.

John McGreal's men take on Brantham in their first game of the pre-season schedule, kicking off at 7.45pm.

Then, the next day, Tony Humes will cast his eye over how his squad are faring when we make our regular trip to Heybridge Swifts.

The Swifts are holding a Family Day for the visit of the U's, with activities getting underway at lunchtime.

We'll have squads online later in the day ahead of the first balls being kicked. Football is back!
