Brindley Signs

2 June 2015

Right back is the U's first summer signing.

Colchester United are delighted to confirm that Richard Brindley is the club's first signing of the close season.

Richard, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with the U's at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, has signed on a free transfer on a two year contract.

The right back, who turned 22 in May, played eight times for the U's after arriving from Rotherham, helping the team to 14 points in those matches.

And he was part of the side who picked up a dramatic last day victory over Preston North End, which helped ensure League One football for another season.

He was released by Rotherham at the end of the season and, after talks with manager Tony Humes, has now signed a contract to make him a full time Colchester player.

We will have further reaction soon!

His move will be confirmed subject to paperwork clearance and he will officially become a Colchester United player on July 1st.
