Charity Ride At U's

12 June 2015

Trio en route to Amsterdam

The U's are supporting Prostate Cancer UK's charity ride from London to Amsterdam.

As well as hosting the afternoon's pitstop at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, three riders are representing the U's on the trip.

Corin Haines, The U's FITC Manager, and Mr and Mrs Kent, parents of Frankie, are riding with over 250 others for the worthy cause.

The group left Brisbane Road, home of Leyton Orient, first thing on Friday morning and via Brentwood, Heybridge and Gt Totham, found their way to the U's stadium in the mid afternoon heat.

After a brief stop, they set off for Harwich and will complete the ride to Amsterdam on Saturday morning after an overnight ferry crossing.

Talking about the ride so far, Corin said: "It's been fantastic to be involved in what is a massive event for such a great cause."

"The heat has made it hard work but there is always someone to push you on when you get a bit tired.

"We've still got just over an hour's ride left today so I'm sure there'll be some aching bodies on the ferry tonight but it's all worth the pain."
