Gavin buys a Weston Homes apartment.

Colchester United winger Gavin Massey has made the town his home – on and off the pitch.

The wide man, who signed a new contract at the end of 2014, has now strengthened his connections with the town, having recently bought a a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment at Hawkins Wharf.

The first time buyer is delighted to be on the property ladder in his dream home at the development in Colchester.

Gavin has played as a forward for Colchester United since 2012 and prior to this he began his career at his hometown club, Watford. He originally came across the scheme in the clubs matchday programme in late 2014; he was instantly attracted to the high specification interiors, lateral living spaces and central location.

This made the decision to purchase his very first home extremely easy. The apartments at Hawkins Wharf have been designed to maximize natural light and space providing generous sized living areas.

Gavin said: "I had been looking to buy my first home around the Colchester area for quite some while, but I was keen to ensure I didn’t rush my decision and made the right choice. I wanted to find a home that was in a convenient location and one where I could move straight in, and when I discovered Hawkins Wharf it was perfect for me.

"I was also amazed by the unbelievable views overlooking the River Colne and the high specification finishes that my apartment offered.

"The main attraction for me was the developments location, which has a relaxed and quaint feel, a welcome change to the busy lifestyle of my previous rented home in Watford.

"The apartment is also within walking distance to local amenities and a short drive to the Weston Homes Community Stadium and Colchester United training ground, making it ideal for my early morning training sessions.

"My commute used to take four times as long in Watford, although training days are quite short, sessions can be tiring, so living nearby is ideal. I now have extra time to work on my individual weaknesses which is really helping to improve my performance."

The apartment at Hawkins Wharf features ample open-plan living spaces, perfect for entertaining friends.

The kitchen area comprises of sleek and stylish fully fitted designer Oakwood kitchens with high-gloss units and integrated appliances including fan oven, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

The bathrooms and en-suites are generously sized and have polished and unpolished porcelain floor and wall tiles, ‘Roca Laura’ and ‘Laufen Pro’ suite, fitted mirrors, and a heated towel rail.

Hythe Station is half a mile away providing links to the City and Colchester station is around two miles away, which provides direct links into Liverpool Street in around 50 minutes.  Stansted Airport is approximately 30 miles away and the A12 is ideal for those looking to get to the M25.
