Bransgrove Undergoes Op

Keeper suffers knee injury.

U's keeper James Bransgrove has had knee surgery.

The youngster suffered the setback in training towards the end of the season and has been under the knife to repair the damage. Speaking about the injury and the surgical procedure, Physio Tony Flynn said: "It was a big blow for James but he will be back as strong as ever.

"Drey sees his specialist next Tuesday and will then go back to St George's Park with Michael for another week."

"Whilst it is unlikely that James, and Michael O'Donoghue, will make it for early July, Drey Wright and Frankie Kent are on schedule to join in with the rest of the squad when they're back.

James joins a number of players who will be at various stages of rehabilitation over the summer and Tony is confident that two of the four will be back with the squad for the first day of pre-season training.

"There was also a tear so it had to be repaired and re-positioned in the operation."

"It happened in training and the cartilage in his knee slipped out of place.
