Calling All Schools!

10 November 2015

Girls teams wanted to enter national competition.

The tournament will give girls from across the local area the chance to be some of the first players to appear on the brand new 3G Astroturf pitch, which was resurfaced in September 2015.

This season, Colchester United will hold their annual Girls Cup (U13s) 6-a-side tournament, which is sponsored by the Football League Trust, at Shrub End Community and Sports Centre.
Last season's local club winners Moulsham High School represented Colchester United at local, area and regional stages.

After winning at local and area finals, they narrowly missed out on a trip to Wembley as they lost 3–2 in the regional final.

There are thousands of professional footballers that have never got to play at Wembley, so to be in with a chance of stepping onto the hallowed turf is a spectacular opportunity. Not even Pele, one of the greatest players of all time, got to play at Wembley Stadium!

After Moulsham's success last year, we know there are loads of great school teams in our area and many of you will want the chance to show off your skills at the home of football.

Last year over 2,000 schools entered the two competitions, with the finalists getting the chance to play at Wembley Stadium.

So what are you waiting for? Why not take the chance to go down in history at your school and become local heroes by proudly representing your local League club?!
