New date for Thurstable programme.
On Friday 15th January 2016, we will be hosting a trial date for new applications commencing September 2016.
The Colchester United Football College is a 6th form and Football education programme based at Thurstable Sports College and Sixth Form (Tiptree, Essex).
The dates for the upcoming Colchester United Football College has been moved to January 2016.
This is an opportunity for successful candidates to continue with their education as well as develop further as a footballer and coach.
The programme is open to all 6th form students during academic year 2015/16 and, unlike other football programmes, offers a range of academic courses including A Levels, B-Tec and GCSE re-sits.
All successful candidates will attend Thurstable on daily basis and the coaching for the football programme will be four afternoons a week after school. On Wednesdays is when the squad plays their college league games in the British College Sport, National College Football League.
Community coach Karl Andrade said: "The purpose of the Football College is to provide a unique experience in which those selected would have the opportunity to be trained by top Colchester United Coaches.
"This will be a prestigious and enriching experience that will enhance the career and prospects of students whose passion and flair for sport has already been recognised."
On Friday 15th January 2016 the football college will be holding an open trial day and open morning, and the U's would like to invite any potential students/players to attend, where they can:-
* Enjoy visiting the 6th form accommodation and see the facilities
* Speak to staff about courses on offer
* Take part in a series of trial games to demonstrate their football ability in the presence of the coaching staff
* Full presentation on the programme from the Colchester United FC staff
If you are interested in the football programme, please complete the open trial day registration form and, to confirm your place, please return for the attention of Karl Andrade.
Once the form has been returned an itinerary for the day will be sent 48 hours prior to the trial day.
Please note, should you not be able to attend the date an alternative date can be made available.
