Eddie Visits Stanway Villa

5 October 2015

U's fluffy hero heads to local team for pre-match trip.

This week was the turn of Stanway Villa U10s Blues & Reds and it was U's fan Natasha Roberts who contacted us to make the visit.

Eddie the Eagle was once again on his travels at the weekend, heading out ahead of the U's match with Bury on Saturday morning.

Upon arrival, Eddie was just in time to take part in free kick practice, where unfortunately he was unable to beat young James who was in great form, it looks like Eddie won't be on free kick duty for the next game.

However, the tides did turn when Eddie went in goal for both free kicks and penalties. Again, Eddie was in sensational form, pulling of some wonderful saves and it won't be long before he is knocking on Jamie Jones' door.

Once Eddie had finished with the Blues, he popped over to the Reds team, who were practising some finishing.

Unfortunately it seemed Eddie had peaked for the morning and he wasn't so prolific between the sticks. Nevertheless, Eddie and all the boys from Stanway Villa YFC had a wonderful time and he is looking forward to seeing them at a U's game soon.

and he will swoop along to a training session soon. eddie.eagle@colchesterunited.netIf you have an involvement in a youth football team that trains on a Saturday morning, just let Eddie know on
