More To Come

25 September 2015

Owen still has more in the tank.

"I think I've done OK so far, and I'd say there is more improvement to come from me as I get sharper.

He is unbeaten in his four league games for the U's, and said: "I've only played a few games so far, and I am happy to have started three of those.

The Irishman extended his deal through to the summer of 2017 on Friday afternoon and is now ready to help lift the U's even further up the League One table.

Fresh from signing his new contract with Colchester United, midfielder Owen Garvan believes he still has plenty more to offer the team.

"We've won 2 and drew 2 since I've been here, and we have a bunch of lads who are eager to work hard and improve and, with the experienced lads that have come in, we will get better and stronger.

"This week, we have three more games and if we can come out of those with good results, then we can start to kick away from the bottom and turn our attentions upwards."

"We need to back up those recent performances and get more points on the board.

"There is plenty of optimism in the group at the moment, but if we lose then we will be back down there, so we have got to keep going.
