September's Stats

30 September 2015

Some great reading from a hugely enjoyable month.

Colchester United made it four wins in a row on Tuesday night as they beat Bradford City 2-0.

The win lifted the U's to eighth in the League One table, as they continue to impress with their attacking flair.

It sets up what is likely to be the match of the weekend in League One, as Bury come to town.

Fresh from their promotion from League Two last season, the Shakers won all five of their league games in September to move up to fourth with ten games gone.

David Flitcroft's men are also now fourteen unbeaten away from home and it promises to be a cracker.

As you would expect from the U's great run of form in September, the stats make good reading for any U's supporter.

Here are some of the top stats we've picked out from the second month of the season

- the U's picked up 13 points from a possible 15 in what looked to be one of their toughest months of the fixture list

- central to their run of form was George Moncur, who grabbed 5 goals in 6 league and cup games to establish himself in the division's top scorers

- provider of many of those goals was Callum Harriott. The Charlton loanee set up six in the six September games, and has also notched goals himself in his last three first team appearances

- the goals have been shared around, though, as the U’s have scored two or more in their last seven games

- that free flowing play in front of goal meant that Tony Humes' men scored 14 in 6 games in September

- they've scored in the first ten minutes of their last four games

- the good run extended the U’s unbeaten stretch to six league games

- the run of four wins in a row is the first time the U’s have achieved that feat since 2009

- and they are making WHCS a tough place to come, as they are now also ten unbeaten in front of their own fans

So, make sure you join us this weekend as we take on Bury. Every voice will count as we look to extend this good start to the season!
