Keeper puts pen to paper.

Colchester United have signed keeper Jamie Jones.

The twenty six year old has put pen to paper on a loan deal at the Weston Homes Community Stadium that will run until December 12th.

After starting his career at Everton, Jones moved onto Leyton Orient, where he made 179 appearances, and then Preston North End.

In the second half of last season, he experienced League One football at both Coventry and Rochdale on loan, making four and thirteen appearances for the two clubs.

With Sam Walker and James Bransgrove injured, and Chris Lewington departing, Jones will fight for the first team jersey with Elliott Parish and new youngster Dillon Barnes.

He trained with his new teammates on Friday and is expected to be in the travelling party for Saturday's game at Chesterfield.
