McGreal sees mentality change in U's

A first half blitz saw the U's go three up against Grimsby on Tuesday evening.

But Head Coach John McGreal was quick to speak of the second half performance in the 3-2 victory.

Grimsby sub Craig Disley pulled a goal back a couple of minutes after the half time break, the visitors scored late on as well, but McGreal was pleased with his players' response.

"After they scored early in the second half, I thought we showed a lot of character."

"After what had happened at Brighton and what has happened in the past, we could have conceded two or three more in quick succession.

"But we got a bit of experience on the pitch at the right time and killed the game a bit.

"We got ourselves a foothold back in the game and the most pleasing thing was the way we managed the second half when it could have gone against us.

"Grimsby did get a bit of steam up but overall in the second half, we had more chances, hit the woodwork again and I must give the players credit for coming away with the win."
