U's Go To Hull

15 August 2016

Garvan in squad for first Development League game.

Colchester United's development squad head to Hull City on Monday evening as they get their league season underway.

Wayne Brown and Kevin Horlock will take their side north for the first game on Monday in a 7pm kick-off.

The Professional Development League will be run as an U23s league in 2016/17 following a vote ahead of the start of the season.

The U's rarely used overage players last season, but the new rules will allow some of the players on the fringes of the first team to get valuable game time.

The squad that travels north on Monday includes Owen Garvan will get his first game time since the pre-season friendly at Southend.

Weekend signing Brendan Ocran and Frankie Kent will also make the trip to face the Tigers in a strong looking squad on Monday.

U's: Barnes, Ocran, Kent, James, Peter, O'Donoghue, Wyatt, Garvan, Diaz Wright, Triallist, Issa, Triallist, Regis, Brown, Edge, Sheriff
