U's Flash: Defender In

22 December 2016

Jermaine pens U's contract.

Colchester United are pleased to confirm the arrival of defender Jermaine Grandison to the club.

Jermaine has signed a contract with the U's until the end of the season, after impressing in a recent trial at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The powerful defender has been training with the club in recent weeks and turned out for the U23s in the games against Derby County and Crystal Palace.

Having started with Coventry City, Jermaine, who celebrated his 26th birthday last week, has twice been promoted out of League Two with Shrewsbury Town in 2011/12 and 2014/15.

Jermaine will take squad number 34 during his time at the club and his move will be completed subject to paperwork clearance.

He ended up playing 174 times for the Shropshire club, and is only seven games short of 200 professional appearances.
