Find The Formula

Boss working hard to find first win.

The U's manager has endured a frustrating few weeks as he looks to land that vital three points, but is seeking that victory at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

Colchester United boss Kevin Keen takes his team to Bury at the weekend, eager to find a first win and kick start the U's survival bid.

Reflecting on Tuesday's draw with Chesterfield, he told U's Player: "We were disappointed not to exploit the fact they had ten men.

"We had lots of chances, but we showed our Achilles heel of conceding straight after scoring.

"We'll continue to work hard and do everything we can to set things right.

"The recent record speaks for itself, we've struggled to get a victory, but changing the team is a way to finding a formula and the magic needed to win a game.

"Those changes have sometimes come due to injury, sometimes due to formation or just trying to find a way to win."

The gap to safety remains at eight points after recent matches and there are now sixteen games remaining in the rest of the current campaign.

The U's need to find victories soon, something all at the club are well aware of.

Asked whether he believed his team could complete a survival bid, Kevin added: "I am always hopeful yes.

"The players are still aware we have enough games and enough points available to get out of trouble.

"The sooner we win, the easier it will be."
