U's FITC team launch Twitter feed.

Colchester United's Football in the Community will be spreading the word on their activities, following the launch of their own Twitter feed this week.

The U's FITC scheme now works in nearly 70 schools a week, helping spread the word on Colchester United and to encourage pupils (and teachers!) to attend games at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

They also run a wide range of courses, both during term-time and in the school holidays to engage with the local community on a daily basis.

Tom Tayler, Community Development Officer, said: "With the number of programmes we are currently running and our high participant numbers, we know that our own Twitter account is the perfect next step to not only keep current users up to date with all they need to know, but also hopefully reach out to people who have not yet been involved with Colchester United Football in the Community.

"Social Media is a very powerful tool in today’s world and we can't wait to get on board to and use it to help engage with the local community."
