U's Flash: Dan Departs

5 January 2016

Holman joins National League leaders Cheltenham.

Colchester United striker Dan Holman has departed the club on a free transfer to join National League side Cheltenham Town.

Dan, who arrived at the Weston Homes Community Stadium under the management of Joe Dunne in the summer of 2014, played five games as substitute in Colchester colours.

The 25-year-old spent much of his time out on loan in the past season and a half, with spells at Wrexham, Aldershot Town and Dover coming before this season's stint with Woking.

It was with The Cards that he enjoyed his most productive spell and his performances caught the attention of National League leaders Cheltenham.

Following discussions with the U's, he has now departed on a permanent basis and will be with the Robins as they look to return to the Football League at the first time of asking.
