Park Drive will host the U's on Saturday afternoon, with the game kicking off at 3pm.
The squad has been back in training for the past ten days, working hard at Florence Park, but the players will be looking forward to some match action now.
Sam Walker and Tom Eastman won't be involved but neither were expected to feature this early in the build-up to the season.
As in previous seasons, the plan will be for each of the twenty two players to complete forty five minutes as they begin the pre-season matches.
And all the new signings are expected to feature, including this week's newcomers Kurtis Guthrie and Craig Slater.
The U's face Maldon & Tiptree in their first friendly this weekend.
