U's Fixtures Revealed

22 June 2016

U's begin with a long trip.

Colchester United will begin their 2016/17 games with a long trip to Hartlepool United.

The trip to Victoria Park has echoes of the U's first season at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, where they travelled to face Hartlepool on the opening day of the 2008/9 campaign.

The home fixtures start with a reunion with former manager Joe Dunne, who will come to Colchester with his Cambridge side on August 13th.

That's followed by a match against newly promoted Grimsby Town on August 16th as we look forward to a home double to get the matches at WHCS underway.

There are journeys on the road around Christmas, with Luton Town on Boxing Day and Stevenage on New Year's Eve.

We travel to Wycombe in late August, before hosting the Chairboys in January, FA Cup commitments permitting.

And the season comes to a close with a real push at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, with seven of our final eleven matches in front of our own supporters.

That includes a final day game against Yeovil Town, and we all know what happened the last time we faced the Glovers on the last day!
