We look back at the recent National Finals.
On Tuesday 7th June 2016, our Walking Football group proudly represented Colchester United FC at the FLT National Finals held at St George's Park, the English Football Association's National Football Centre.
Having won the Regional Finals held at Luton Town, the U’s secured their place at the National Finals alongside Mansfield Town, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Plymouth Argyle, Wigan Athletic, Blackpool, Bristol Rovers, Sheffield United and Southend United.
Equipped with a bucket full of energy supplies, the U's took to the indoor 3G artificial pitch to warm up, eager to get underway.
Four closely fought tough games ensued for Colchester United in Group 2 of the tournament with the U's creating a hatful of chances but with little luck in their favour.
Despite this they soldiered on, showing great pride and determination to grind out a result but unfortunately couldn't progress past the group stages.

Eventual winners were Blackpool FC who, despite only beating the U's 1-0 in the group stages, were unbeaten on the day.
A fantastic experience nonetheless was capped off with a tour of the facility with their heads held high as reigning champions of the South East region.
