Next season's U9s join the U's.
Saturday's game against Wigan Athletic saw a host of youngsters begin their journey towards becoming a Colchester United first team player.
Ahead of kick-off against the Latics, we welcomed next year's U9s players to the Weston Homes Community Stadium to sign on with the club for next season.
They were joined by U's boss Kevin Keen, who took time out of his pre-match preparations to welcome each player to the club.
U's Football Operations Manager Tony Ashby said: "Many of these boys have already been with us for two years and have developed into good players with excellent technical abilities.
"Eight of the players come form the Colchester area, demonstrating the good talent we have to choose from, and the rest are from just outside Colchester.
"They already have got local players to look up to within the club and they'll want to follow in the footsteps of Sammie Szmodics, Louis Dunne and Cameron James in the future."
