Our big summer concert at the Weston Homes Community Stadium is just weeks away and, with the football season coming to a close this afternoon, attentions will begin to turn to the arrival of Lionel Richie in Colchester.

Supported by Corinne Bailey Rae, Lionel’s concert is sure to be an incredible event for the 16,000 music fans in attendance.

Parking details for the concert on Saturday June 25th are now available, as we look to give you plenty of options on how to be a part of a memorable evening.

CONCERT DAY PARKING
Thousands of parking spaces have been identified at different locations. Please note that access to all car parking will be via Junction 29 of the A12 only for this concert, apart from the Park & Ride car park.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS & ROAD CLOSURES
Please note that concert day parking restrictions are in place throughout the area local to the stadium. Please do not park in these areas which also include the clearways close to the stadium. Failure to comply with these restrictions may result in parking fines or vehicle removal. Road closures in the immediate vicinity of the stadium will take place post-concert. 

STADIUM CAR PARK
There will be no access to the stadium site (Car Park E) on the day without a stadium parking permit. This car park is now SOLD OUT. Junction 28 of the A12 is likely to be very busy so to avoid delays, please avoid this junction and use alternative routes.

OFF-SITE PARK & RIDE LOCATIONS
Two car parks have been identified as Park & Ride locations and will be served by shuttle buses before and after the concert. To reduce the need to queue on entry, pre-booking is strongly advised. Please have your ticket ready prior to entering the car park. 

Car Park A: Ardleigh Car Boot Venue (CO7 7QR) - 4,000 spaces available. 

Car Park C: Essex House, Severalls Business Park (CO4 9YQ) - 137 spaces available.

Services will start at 4.30pm and will run regularly and continuously until the start of the concert. Buses will drop off passengers outside the stadium. Post-concert, buses will be parked outside the stadium and will run until 12.30am. 

Signs will be displayed in the front of the buses indicating what venue they are destined for. Please note the drop off and pick up locations will be the same before and after the concert.

Park and Ride permits are available at £10.00 per vehicle and include the price of the shuttle bus for all of your passengers. Concert tickets will need to be shown on both legs of your journey.

PARK & WALK LOCATIONS
Car Park B
 option available approximately a 10 minute walk along the Boxted Road exit at the back of the Colchester Park & Ride car park. Please do not attempt to walk across the A12 Junction. J28 Park & Ride Car Park, Cuckoo Farm Way, Off A12 Junction28, CO4 5JA - 800 spaces are available and must be booked in advance at £10.00 per vehicle. 
A Park & Walk location is available approximately a 15 minute walk from the stadium accessible by lit footpaths and sign posted to and from the car park and stadium. This is Colchester Rugby Club (Car Park D, CO4 9WJ) 280 spaces are available and must be booked in advance at £7.00 per vehicle.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
In addition to Park & Ride and Park & Walk locations; a full shuttle bus service will be running from Bruff Close (CO4 5EU). This is approximately a 5 minute walk away from Colchester Train Station (CO2 7EF) and has 1,300 spaces available.

This journey costs £3.00 per person return. Parking at the train station must be paid for separately and cannot be paid for in advance from the Colchester United Ticket Office. Services start at 4.30pm and will run regularly and continuously until the start of the concert. Buses will drop off passengers outside the stadium. Post-concert, buses will be parked outside the stadium and run until 12.30am.

A matchday Rover ticket will be available throughout the First Buses network which means that for the price of £2 return, any First Bus service can be used to connect to the Bruff Close Shuttle Bus Service. Please see First Buses website for details: www.firstgroup.com/ukbus

PARKING FOR PEOPLE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY AND SPECIAL NEEDS
Parking at Car Park A, C & Bruff Close will be supported by buses with disabled access. When booking tickets online, by phone or in person please inform the club’s Ticket Office of any mobility issues at the point of booking your permit and you will be parked accordingly.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
We are keen to promote travel alternatives to the concert by car in order to minimise impact on the environment, local neighbours and the highway network. Please check times with providers before you travel.
