Elokobi Extends Loan Deal

11 November 2016

Defender stays with Braintree until January.

Colchester United defender George Elokobi will be with Braintree until the turn of the year, after extending his loan spell with the Iron at the end of last week.

George will now be with Hakan Hayrettin's team until January 3rd, after signing on for another two months with the Conference National side.

And the powerful defender was on target twice for Braintree as they powered through to the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup with a thumping 7-0 win over Eastbourne Borough at the weekend.

Front man Femi Akinwande played eighty minutes on Saturday as Bishops Stortford ended an eight game losing streak with an important 2-1 win over Weston Super Mare.

He converted a cross from Freddie Moncur, brother of George, to make it 2-0 with the second goal of his loan spell, and Stortford held on to pick up all three points.

Meanwhile, also in the Conference South, Ben Wyatt was an unused sub as Concord were pegged back in the 94th minute, to draw 2-2 away at Bath City.

Jack Curtis was the third U's loanee on target at the weekend, as he scored the latest goal in what is proving to be a productive loan spell for the attacking midfielder at Needham Market.

The goal squared things up against Dulwich Hamlet as Needham consolidated their place in the upper reaches of the Ryman Premier table.

Jack completed ninety minutes in Saturday’s game, whilst fellow loanee Callum Harrison played 82 minutes in the 1-1 draw.
