Tom Keen To Get Going

1 November 2016

Midfielder eager to back into action.

Colchester United midfielder Tom Lapslie is itching to get back into first team action after getting back out onto the pitch on Monday.

Tom completed an hour in the U23s draw at Coventry City and now has his attentions set on a return to the senior side.

"It was nice to be back out on the pitch again after seven weeks or so without playing," he told the club website.

"I feel fine and there were no problems or issues during the game and I've had no adverse reaction today.

"I'd love to be back in the first team as soon as possible, but I will take guidance off the manager and the physio team and do whatever they suggest is best."

Tom has now racked up 33 first team appearances - including nine this season prior to his injury against Blackpool.

He's watched the home games since that time and believes it's only a matter of time until results turn in the U's favour.

"We've not got the results we've deserved," he added.

"We've not been far away, even at Plymouth on Saturday where we've matched a side at the top of the table.

"We need to turn those performances into results and I want to be out there doing my bit for the team."
