Denny Johnstone has joined St Johnstone on a season long loan.
The forward returns to Scotland, to join the Saints for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign.
Denny joined the U's in the summer of 2016, and made thirty five appearances for John McGreal's side.
U's Director of Football Tony Humes explained how the deal came about, saying: "St Johnstone's manager Tommy Wright tried to sign Denny last summer when he came to us, and he made enquiries about Denny's availability this week.
"Because Denny had found it hard to cement a starting place for us, we granted Tommy permission to talk to him and Denny wanted the opportunity to go and play up in Scotland again.
"It is imperative that we now find a replacement for Denny, and we'll be doing all we can to bring in that replacement ahead of the transfer window shutting next week."
Denny is expected to make his debut for St Johnstone against Celtic on Saturday, subject to international clearance being received.
