New Contracts On Table

U's offer deals to five players

15 August 2017

Colchester United have offered new contracts to five players.

Brennan Dickenson, Kurtis Guthrie, Tom Lapslie, Frankie Kent and Drey Wright have all had contract offers put to them to extend their time at the U’s.

Dickenson and Guthrie joined the U’s twelve months ago, and both enjoyed a productive first campaign here at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The other three have come up through the U’s Academy, and have now made over 230 appearances between them.

Offers have been put to the quintet, with Director of Football Tony Humes saying how pleased the club is with their impressive performances.

“The players concerned have been at the club for various amounts of time, but have all performed to a high standard and fully deserve to be rewarded for that.”

“They are all hungry, young players and it was no surprise that they were all heavily involved as we chased a Play-Off place last season.”

“Brennan and Kurtis unfortunately ended the season in the treatment room but we’re confident that they can come back and reproduce the form they showed in their first season before their respective injuries.”

On the young trio, Lapslie, Kent and Wright, Humes added: “These are lads that have come through the Academy and proved that they are more than good enough to have long and successful careers in the game.”

“Their talent and attitude have been spot on and they, like Brennan and Kurtis, deserve to be rewarded with new contract offers.”
