Colchester United U23s will face some lengthy trips on the road in this season's Premier League Cup group stages.
Last year, Wayne Brown's side reached the quarter finals in a memorable run through the tournament, which included beating Manchester City, before also triumphing over Sunderland in the first knock out stage.
And Wayne's team will return to the north-east when they face Newcastle United in this year's group stage.
The U's will also take on Burnley and Swansea City, with a quick return to Wales for summer signing Dan Jefferies.
All fixtures will be played home and away, with the top two progressing to the Second Round.
