Sammie Szmodics is looking forward to the new season
The U's young forward has suffered with injuries over the past two years and is hoping to complete a first full season in 2017/18.
Ahead of the opening game, a trip to Accrington Stanley, the twenty one year old spoke to cu-fc.com and the local press and explained how hard he has been working over the summer to be fully ready.
He started last season in the starting eleven before an ankle injury stopped him in his tracks and saw him out for three months.
In only his fourth appearance back in the side, a broken leg curtailed his campaign and he has been on the road to recovery since.
He has played a full part in pre-season, and wants to play as much as he can in 2017/18.
