Colchester United's U23s preserved their unbeaten start to the season on Friday afternoon, as they drew 2-2 against Barnsley.
Wayne Brown's side fell behind twice in the match at Oakwell, but showed their resilience to fight back for a point.
The opening goal came after just ten minutes, when the Tykes' triallist striker Victor Adeboyejo clipped one home off the inside of the post past Dan Wilks.
But the U's drew level eight minutes into the second half as the ball bounced around in the Barnsley penalty area and Eli Phipps was on hand to calmly finish into the bottom corner.
The home side quickly regained the lead, however, as Josh Kay smashed home a low shot from distance to make it 2-1.
The U's fought back again, though, and had chances as the game moved towards a conclusion.
And Tarryn Allarakhia, signed from Maldon & Tiptree in the summer, showed great feet to contrive himself some space in the box, before smashing home past the keeper.
Next up for the U's U23s is a game against Hull City at Florence Park on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28th).
