Young duo Diaz Wright and Tariq Issa have both been included in the squad for the U's trip to Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
The two Academy graduates have impressed during pre-season and are rewared with a place in the travelling party for the game in Lancashire.
Both have been with the U's from a young age and are the latest products of the club's production line.
Tariq made his debut in the Checkatrade Trophy game against Southampton U23s last season, whilst Diaz played against Crawley Town in the sdame competition.
The U's are set to be without midfielder Doug Loft, who injured his back in an impact injury in the friendly against his former side Gillingham.
Frankie Kent has travelled to the opening game of the season, however, after missing that match against the Gills.
