Briggs to get more match time.
Colchester United's U23s have their first game of 2017 on Monday afternoon, as they take on Ipswich Town at Playford Road.
The U's youngsters finished the year in good form and will be hoping to pick up where they left off against the Tractor Boys in a 1pm kick-off.
The match will give Matt Briggs another chance to get some match action under his belt on his return to action and the match will also see the U's cast their eye over two triallists.
